Happy New Year – A Great Time to Start (or Restart) Guitar

Jan 7, 2026 | Teaching Updates | 0 comments

Happy New Year, and welcome to 2026.

If learning guitar has been something you’ve been meaning to start — or return to — the beginning of a new year is often the perfect time. With a fresh mindset and a bit of space to form new habits, many players find this is when things finally start to click.

I offer structured guitar lessons in Staffordshire for adults and children, from complete beginners through to more experienced players. My approach focuses on clear progress, solid fundamentals, and learning real music in a way that’s enjoyable and sustainable. Whether that’s building confidence with chords, developing fingerpicking skills, or learning songs that pull everything together, lessons are designed to give you a clear sense of direction.

Alongside in-person lessons, I also offer structured online guitar coaching for students further afield. This works well for players who want clear guidance and feedback but need flexibility around schedules or time zones and takes form as Zoom lessons face to face or Asynchronous Coaching.

If you’re thinking about guitar lessons this year, you’ll find more information about how I teach, lesson options, and availability here on the site. You’re also welcome to get in touch if you’d like to ask a few questions or discuss what might suit you best.

Wishing you a very happy new year and plenty of music in the months ahead.

— Jo
